Director Families and Children

Vibrant schools. Excellent transport links. A community full of spirit. Breathtaking countryside. A thriving economy. And one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Wiltshire offers all this and more – and we want you to experience it all.

Wiltshire is a place people are proud to call home. As England’s fourth-largest unitary council, we are blessed with stunning landscapes, rich heritage, and charming towns and villages. We have around half a million residents, including 30,000 military personnel, who mainly live in our rural and urban towns, with Salisbury being our thriving major city. Our county is home to two world-renowned heritage sites, Stonehenge and Avebury, and boasts half of its land as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.’

Families and children are at the core of everything we do. We focus on innovation and change to make sure our services deliver lasting results. Our Families and Children’s Transformation Programme (FACT) is leading the way with its fresh approach.

We work across services with external partners and internal colleagues including Adult’s services to ensure smooth transitions from childhood to adulthood, focusing on early intervention and prevention from the very start.

Our staff are key to achieving the best outcomes for children and families, and our services are built to adapt to their needs. We make the most of our time with families, offering early support to prevent issues from escalating, and ensuring children can thrive in their own communities.

It is an exciting time to join our council, with excellent benefits and a culture where talented people succeed.
