The next step is an interview with us, either virtually or in-person, depending on the circumstances.
We operate guaranteed interview schemes in line with our commitment to disability confident, veterans and care leavers.
If your interview is successful, we will carry out compliance and vetting. These checks will include referencing.
Your new line manager will contact you to arrange a start date. You’ll then receive your formal contract.

No. We have to do a series of checks before we offer you a role. Don’t resign from your current job until these checks are completed.

No – however, we may review this in exceptional circumstances.
Firstly, your right to work documents. The interviewer will take a copy. If you are interviewing virtually you will need to hold your documents up to the camera to show the interviewer. (If you are successful, you will need to bring that document with you on your first day).
Secondly, if the role description says you will be required to drive on council business, please bring your photocard driving license to the interview. Thirdly, if your role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS, formerly CRB), please bring your original documents.
