The Wiltshire Council Public Health team champion health across the whole of the authority’s business, promoting healthier lifestyles and scrutinising and challenging the NHS and other partners to promote better health and ensure threats to health are addressed.
We have a team of staff who work across the spectrum of public health and play a key and varied role in promoting, improving, and protecting good health in the county. Some of the team (Local Area Coordinators, Health Trainers, and Anti-Social behaviour officers) work directly in communities providing services to some of our most vulnerable residents.
Our Public Health priority areas for 2020/21 are: Smoke-Free Society, Healthier Weight, Resilient Communities, Better Mental Health, Best Start in Life, Sexual Health and Healthcare, Cleaner Air.
Karen explains why now is the perfect time for you to join the Public Health team.
