Charlotte Lloyd, Recreation Assistant
My name is Charlotte Lloyd, I'm 21, and have been a part of the Wiltshire Council team as a Recreation Assistant (RA) for 3 months. The main aspects of my role, as an R.A are to ensure the safety of the pool users, and maintain an accepted level of cleanliness of the building. The best part of my job is the interaction with customers and making sure that their experience is of a high standard. I also take part in Camp Activate, in the summer.
Wiltshire Council has given me a beginning step to starting my career. It has provided me with opportunities to further my career down a managerial route (e.g. Senior Recreation Assistant), and also the chance to become a Swimming Teacher's Assistant.
The part I enjoy most about working for Wiltshire Council is the chance to work as part of a team. Even though I have not worked at Devizes Leisure Centre for that long, I feel I have already made some valuable friends. I feel fully supported within the team I work in and that they will help me with developing my future career.
