Why are so many of your vacancies open to council employees only?
Following the decision to move to One Council for Wiltshire, the four District Councils merged with the County Council in Wiltshire to form the new Wiltshire Council on April 1st 2009. As a result of this move, a new structure for the Council was agreed and following consultation with the Unions an appointment process was approved that involved the matching of employees to the new structure. Those that weren't matched directly to positions were placed into a 'redeployment pool' and encouraged to apply for vacancies that matched their skills. Once the vacancies have been through the re-deployment pool they will then be released externally.
