Apprenticeships School leavers Work experience

Apprenticeships are a great way to earn and learn. You get to build your skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and usually some classroom learning. On completion, you’ve gained a nationally recognised qualification and usually the offer of a full-time job.

Our apprenticeships cover a wide range of roles in areas such as:

• Health and social care - adults
• Business and administration
• Children and young people’s workforce
• Customer service
• IT applications

Each apprenticeship takes between one and three years to complete. Look out for apprenticeship opportunities advertised on this website. You can also sign up for email alerts to make sure you don’t miss out the next time we’re recruiting.

Many of our roles require little or no specific experience – just the right skills, personal qualities and academic qualifications. For some it’s useful if you’ve gained experience in a holiday or temporary job, on a work placement or perhaps as a volunteer. Just take a look at the person specification of any role you’re interested in to see if you fit the profile and take our behaviours questionnaire to see if you’re right for us and we’re right for you.

Work experience is unpaid voluntary work that gives you valuable insights into the world of work and potential career options. We believe a placement should provide engaging, informative and worthwhile work. A good placement will give you important personal and professional skills, access to experienced people and new responsibilities.

We offer placements suitable for school students, school-leavers, undergraduates, graduates and people looking to get back into work, in a variety of service areas.

To apply for work experience, please email recruitment@wiltshire.gov.uk with the following information
