Terence - Assoc Director Operational Childrens Services

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I initially qualified as a psychiatric nurse and then transferred to social work back in 1990 since when I have been in front line children's social work for over 20 years in four very different Local Authorities in London and the South West. I am married and have two children who seem to grow up incredibly quickly. A keen cyclist and runner, I have the privilege to support the greatest football team in the country.

What makes you have a good day at work?

Achieving something, no matter how big or small, and going home at the end of the day knowing we’ve progressed our plans to protect children and improve our services.

What's the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council?

Wiltshire Council is a progressive organisation that rewards committed and dynamic practitioners.  In Wiltshire Council I take pride that we are a place that values difference and in a challenging environment for local government remains focussed on the most important things.
