Lisa - Housing contracts, Finance and Support Officer

Tell us a little bit about yourself – Your work background, your interests…

My name is Lisa; I started my working life as an office administrator for a furniture company many years ago. Since then I have worked for different local governments including North Yorkshire, City of York and East Riding doing different interesting job roles and I have learnt so much. I have been in this role for four weeks and I seem to be picking things up quite well especially as my team are so helpful, but this is my first finance role so I have a lot to take in and learn about but it’s all fun, new and exciting!

My interests include swimming, I try to go three or four times a week and I also love family time with my children Alfie and Mia and also my little boy when he gets here, he is due in May 2017.

What's the most daring thing you've ever done?

When I was in Paris on holiday I went up the Eiffel tower, being scared of heights that was quite an achievement for me, even though I only made it to the second to top floor.

What is your favourite music for your commute to work?

I like Kings of Leon and Adele; I am usually the one who thinks she can sing turning the volume up full blast singing my heart out in the car….not cool!

What is your favourite book or film, and why?

My favourite film(s) are The Twilight Saga; I just love the storyline and the romance.

What is your ideal holiday destination?

Dubai, I would love to go there and see the sights and the beaches.

What is the first thing you bought with your own money?

The first thing I bought with my own money was blonde highlights at the hair dressers.

What pets do you have?

Two Guinea Pigs named Sparkles and Aladdin.

What's the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council, and your job specifically?

I love the flexibility, especially having children sometimes things crop up unexpected and it’s nice to know that you can rush off if you need to.
