Daniella - Business Support Officer
Tell us a little bit about yourself – Your work background, your interests…
I’m originally from Gibraltar, and have been working at the Council in Safeguarding and Children’s Services for nearly 14 years. I also run a youth choir called Harmonics Glee Club which is what I am usually working on when I’m not here at work as it’s my passion! I’m bilingual, but I think in Spanish and speak in English at work. At home I speak Spanish.
What's the best thing about working at Wiltshire Council, and your job specifically?
My job caters across various different services, so one day I might be working on school safeguarding training, the next I’ll be working with the Independent Visitor Scheme, and the next I’ll be doing data audit analyses! I just like the variety of different work I do and interacting with customers.
What makes you have a good day at work?
People saying thank you and appreciating me. And when there isn’t a queue for my morning hot chocolate.
What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?
Snails, I guess. It’s a common dish back home, served in a lovely red wine sauce.
What would go into you room 101...
People who scrape the bottom of their yoghurt pots or tupperwares at lunchtime, don’t even need to be asked twice about that one.
What is your favourite music for your commute to work?
A bluegrass band called The Dead South
What is your favourite book or film, and why?
Joint between ‘The Stand’ and ‘It’ by Stephen King…BEFORE all the hype about the latest movie!!! They are epic pieces of work which I never get tired of reading (first read them when I was 12 and 14) and they still scare me.
What pets do you have?
A parrot called Mumbles, a dog called Lola, a hamster called Cupcake, and two children called Sam and Maya ;)
