County Hall, Trowbridge

County Hall is a 10 minute walk from the main centre of Trowbridge, located on Bythesea Road.  It is also a short walk to the train station and well served by local pay and display car parks.  Trowbridge Library is now located within the building.

Where We Are

As part of the move to unitary the council is able to reduce the number of its office buildings to four main offices. This will save the council £85million over the 25 years.

There are almost 5,100 staff employed by Wiltshire Council and many of them are based in the four main Wiltshire Council offices that are located in: Trowbridge, Chippenham, Devizes, and Salisbury. We also currently have a temporary office in Melksham.

There are also thousands of employees working in libraries, schools, youth centres, area offices, day centres and leisure centres and more across the county.

The following are our main offices:

County Hall, and East Wing, Trowbridge

Monkton Park, Chippenham

Bourne Hill, Salisbury

County Hall

These offices are close to Trowbridge town centre. They are well served by public transport, and only a short walk from the railway station. The facilities include secure storage for bicycles, shower facilities and a public restaurant serving hot meals and cold snacks. This complex is currently being refurbished to provide a more modernised and fit for purpose working environment.  Trowbridge library is now located within the County Hall building.

While the refurbishment work is being carried out to County Hall, some staff have been relocated to a temporary office in Shurnhold, Melksham

Shurnhold is approximately a 20 minute walk from Melksham town centre and is currently being used as a temporary workplace for employees whilst renovation is being undertaken at County Hall. The facilities include limited storage for bicycles and shower facilities; there is also a bistro restaurant serving light bites, and several vending machines and break out areas.

The facilities include secure storage for bicycles, shower facilities and there are several break out areas and refreshment points within the building.

The reduction in the number of office buildings is an ongoing programme.
